Tattoo artist Melanie Morreale (also known as 'Mel') is also the owner at Rite of Passage, but above all else considers herself an artist.  She attended art school in the 1990's, and has been a professional tattoo artist for over 15 years now. From a very young age her family and friends have known her for her passion for being creative.  She loves all types of artistic expression including making stained glass, and doing photography. She has done all types of tattooing and has a reputation of providing a professional, friendly and clean approach to the art form. She really enjoys technical tattooing most of all. Tattoo artist Colin Day is from the Rochester, NY area, but moved away in 2001 to go to art school in Pittsburgh PA. for graphic design and illustration. After a few semesters at art school he decided graphic design was not for him. He got into tattooing in 2002 on the south side of Pittsburgh through a well established tattoo artist friend of his. over the next few years he tattooed on and off as he was traveling a lot at that time. in 2010 he stopped traveling and started to tattoo more and has done well over a thousand tattoos…by 2012 he had moved back to rochester and soon after was working at Rite Of Passage, Victor, NY.
